Hey, friends! You and I have a lot in common. We both love small business.
Guys, a small business is so much more than your friend from church who makes jewelry. A small business provides for a family. It gives little Johnny his new baseball jersey and Susie gets her ice skating lessons. Small businesses take the service or product that you purchase and turn it into a life. You’re actually able to see just want you’re contributing to someone’s life.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Amazon. I really, truly do. But there is a time and a place for it.
Yeah, sure, you can buy a similar dress online for less, but spending a few dollars more at the boutique down the street could mean that someone makes their rent.
Small businesses are about more than just money, too. You have a real opportunity to build a relationship with your neighbors. In today’s society, it is more important than ever to form a true sense of community with those around us. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to actually know the people who impact your everyday life?
I want to show the same love to these businesses that they show to their communities.
These boutiques and bakeries and services represent people’s dreams. Shouldn’t we want to help each other achieve those dreams?
From the business owner’s perspective, however, things are easier said than done. Businesses are complex and involve more than just creating a product and selling it. There are layers and processes and facets that business owners have to think about and balance.
The phrase “Build it, and they will come” is only true to an extent. Just because you bake the best cupcakes in town doesn’t mean that anyone else knows that.
I want to help lift the burden of marketing and public relations. By stripping away these extra responsibilities, a business owner will be able to devote more time to what they love- their craft.
I hope that through my thoughts and insights, small business owners will be able to stop the struggle, grow their brands, and achieve all of life’s successes.
So let’s do this. Let’s work together to help each other reach our goals. We’re in this together. Let’s make our childhood selves proud.
